Working for Justice
By Marguerite Thompson
This weekly presentation in the bulletin called the “Social Justice Corner”, regularly provides information relevant to some of our own ministries, as well as other significant issues that arise out of our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching. We rotate articles on Immigration, Anti-Human Trafficking, Gay & Straight in Christ, Ellacuria, El Salvador, and Racial Justice. We also rotate in other articles on climate justice, homelessness, hunger, etc.
Being informed about the struggles our sisters and brothers face is a way to keep a pulse on what is happening in the world and enables us to bring those concerns into our prayers and to foster ideas for action. No doubt you have seen the bumper sticker, “If you want peace, work for justice” a quote by Pope Paul VI; peace is what we wish for all those who struggle and our work for that peace comes in many forms of attentiveness and action on these and other issues. Thank you for feeding your spirit by reading these weekly articles and listening to the Spirit inspire your soul towards action.
