Hope from “Reset the Table”

“Reset the Table” was a series of collaborative interracial dialogues between Good Shepherd and St. Martin de Porres where together we listened and learned to better understand the history of racism in our society.

† People found hope in programs like this so we can be educated. They want these conversations to continue.

† Folks were grateful for authors like Fr. Bryan Massingale. He said if you’re not uncomfortable with the subject matter, you’re not willing to be part of the solution.

† Author Robin Di Angelo helped us learn what’s at the root of our racism, and how we can change.

† An African American participant reminded us to get to know and engage people of color. To understand the person, understand their culture.

† Our hope is in Jesus. The mixing of races makes the world a more beautiful place.
