Message from Our Parish Director: Did You Know?
Did you know that you can honor a deceased loved one by having a Mass Intention offered for the deceased? It is simple to do. Just call the parish office and request a Mass Intention. If there is a particular date that is important for you, for example the deceased birthdate or date of death, be sure to check well in advance.
The amount of the stipend for a Mass Intention will be changing, effective July 1, 2024. This change was decreed by the Bishops of the Province in accord with canonical norms. For Masses requested by June 30, 2024, the stipend will be $10. For Masses requested July 1, 2024 and thereafter, the stipend will be $20. For example, a person who requests a Mass on Friday, June 28th for December 27, 2024 would donate $10 for this Mass intention. A person who contacts the parish office on July 1, 2024 to request a Mass intention on December 27, 2024 would be asked for a $20 donation.
The stipends collected go directly to the presider of the Mass to be used at their personal discretion. In our case, that is usually either Fr. Peter or Fr. Dennis.
