St. Ben’s Meal Team Members Needed
Every third Wednesday of the month since 1972, parishioners from Good Shepherd, St. Mary and St. James have donated meatloaf, fruit and desserts to provide a meal for St. Ben’s in Milwaukee. 150-200 people in need, including families, come for a hot meal, smiling face and companionship. Since 1970 the Capuchin’s have provided meals 6 days a week (not on Saturday.) In 2022, almost 40,000 people were fed.
Our St. Ben’s Meal Teams rotate bringing 2 fully cooked meat loaves, fresh fruit or dessert. I’m reminded every month when I come in to warm up, pack the food and drive to St. Ben’s, how generous my fellow sisters and brothers here at Good Shepherd are that have been faithfully providing this meal, some since the very beginning. I recall Mathew 25 and Jesus saying, “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink”.
If you think that this ministry would be something you are called to be a part of, we can surely use your help. Click the button below for more information or to sign up for one of our four teams. Or tap me on the shoulder if you see me around church with any questions or concerns.
