Generosity Poured Out with Food & Toys for the Holidays
Oh, how Good Shepherd came through for the House of Peace!
We had about 150 food boxes collected which took two guys four trips up the ramp, with hand trucks loaded so high, they were above their heads. Thank you for that work, Corday and Demond from House of Peace. And thank you to parishioner Steve Schmit who carefully checked and supplemented with the additional food items donated.
A few comments heard about the Deacon Gene Christensen Toy Drive:
-“Is it just me or are there more toys this year?”
-“Wow, I wonder how many pounds of toys this is?!”
-“What do you think? 300 or 500 toys?”
We were not sure of the answers to those questions, but we did have approximately 60 large bags to share. It took Corday and Demond two trips to get them all.
Thank you for this incredible generosity, and we have to thank our Elf, Steve, and his charming daughter for giving us a great reminder the week before.
