Mini Retreat: Through A Glass Darkly

Saturday January 18 | 9:00 AM-12:00 PM

St. Paul tells us that here on earth we see the image of God “through a glass darkly,” an imperfect reflection. When Isaiah has a direct vision of God, he laments that he will surely die as a result of the encounter. As human beings we are unable to endure the full vision of God, and so God reveals that image in small bits, so we can endure. These lead us to seek the fullness of the divine image, and ultimately union with God. We will spend some time together exploring the image of God—what it is, and where we might seek it.
