April 9: Reconciliation, Reparation, and Fasting
Archbishop Grob has asked that the faithful observe April 9 as a Day of Reconciliation, Reparation, and Fasting.
We are invited to Reconciliation on this day offering: 12 Hours of Reconciliation.
Area priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 11 parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee: St. Dominic-Brookfield, St. Jerome-Oconomowoc, Holy Family-Fond du Lac, St. Paul the Apostle-Racine, Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Kenosha, St. Peter-Slinger, St. Josaphat Basilica-Milwaukee, St. John the Evangelist-Twin Lakes, St. Margaret Mary-Milwaukee, St. Monica-Whitefish Bay, St. Matthias-Milwaukee. Find the time and location that suits you at archmil.org/pray-reconcile-rejoice
We are also asked to make Small Acts of Reparation on this day. Reparation is “making amends for a wrong done or for an offense, especially for sin, which is an offense against God.” Thus we are invited to atone for sins against those who are the most vulnerable, those who suffer from exclusion, indifference, poverty, hunger and the tragedy of war.
In conjunction with our reconciliation with the Lord, and as we make reparation, the day has also been set aside as a Day of Fasting.
