Wishing You a Merry Christmas & Season of Peace
TO: All my friends at Good Shepherd
ALSO TO: All who come to be with us for the Christmas liturgies.
(Know you are always welcome.)

My Christmas/New Year wish for all of you this year is to recognize what the prophet Isaiah foretold centuries ago about the coming of Christ. Isaiah reminds us that when Jesus comes fully into our lives, He brings peace. For Jesus is not just King of Kings, Jesus is also Prince of Peace. Peace is what the prophet Isaiah foretold in the First Sunday of Advent scripture:
“They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; one nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again.”
This Christmas season, and for all of next year, let us dream big dreams and pray big prayers for peace. May we forward our Advent focus of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love throughout 2026. Within your circle of family and friends, by your words and actions, help convert the proverbial swords and spears you encounter into pruning hooks. By your presence, become instruments of peace bringing about an end to the conflicts in your lives.
From the bottom of my heart I wish for you: Peace on earth! Goodwill to all!
A very merry and blessed Christmas, and a happy and grace-filled New Year to all!
