He is risen! Alleluia! He is risen Indeed! Alleluia! Alleluia!!
It is Easter 2026. This particular Easter, we prepare for a new journey given a new pastor will arrive June 16th. What is the connection between a new pastor and Easter? There are many.
First, we as a community need to, like Christ, willingly die to the old and rise to the new. Alleluia!
We are a community that needs, like Christ, to willingly carry the cross of uncertainty, but at the same time stay focused on what is to come and never stop moving forward. Alleluia!
Though unsure of exactly where the new path will lead us, we must keep on going, full of faith. Alleluia!
We are a community that has, like the tested and then risen Lord, to be reassured by our faith in God and each other and rise from doubt. Alleluia!
Despite the uncertain future, we are a community alive, filled with hope, and focused on the light and life that is ahead. Alleluia!
Like Christ’s disciples all those years ago, and striving to be Christ’s disciples of today, we are a community that should strive to be a community of faith, always sharing a journey of the heart, ever striving to see and become the light. Alleluia!
We are a parish who, like our Lenten focus, is moving Through Death to Life! Alleluia!
As I prepare for my last day at the parish on June 15, 2026, know that I wish each and every one of you an inspirational and uplifting Easter season.
I commit to each of you and our new pastor ongoing prayers, and I ask for your prayers for me and my wife Robin.
Peace and blessings.
Deacon Sandy
