Livestreaming Mass
at Good Shepherd

Our parish has been livestreaming and recording Mass in some form for more than 10 years. There have been times we have uploaded the readings and homily, used Facebook Live to livestream and record and used YouTube to livestream and record Mass. (This doesn’t even include our recordings for years before that have been used on local cable access.)

We appreciate the dozens of Audio/Visual Techs who have made all this possible at Good Shepherd.

Bringing our community into the homes of those who cannot join us for whatever reason has produced a significant online community who join us week in and week out. We have about 50 people who join us live each weekend from across the country, some who have never lived in Menomonee Falls but attend regularly. As the livestreams are converted to recordings, we see on average another 50-150 views.

“As a member of Good Shepherd parish since 1992,” says Kathy Gately, “I want to publicly thank the adults and young people who bring us Mass every weekend through YouTube. This ministry that serves those of us who cannot always attend in person is priceless! Please thank these special people and keep it available for all.” This is one of the thank you’s we have received from time to time in appreciation of this ministry.

We have been blessed by this community and the gift we have to bring our parish to the homes of those who cannot attend in-person either temporarily or permanently. Deacon Sandy Sites likes to say that we pray for those viewing online and that they please pray for us. Let us continue to honor God with this unique community of those who join us online.
