Believe – Even Though…
Submitted by Ann Castiglione
We have come through Lent, through dying to the unhealthy and unholy parts of ourselves, and rising to be an EASTER PEOPLE. We are people who have faith and hope in resurrection. Today the Apostle Thomas died to doubt and rose to a new life of true belief in Jesus. Thomas believed because he saw. We are called to believe without seeing.
Perhaps this applies not only to Jesus, but to all of humanity. We grow to believe that people of other nationalities love their homelands as much as we love ours, even though we have not been there. We grow to believe that people of other faith traditions are journeying toward heaven just as we are, even if we do not understand the path they take. We believe that people of all orientations are children of God like us, even if their reality is different from ours. We believe that one day, all of God’s diverse people will experience RESURRECTION.
Happy Second Sunday of Easter!
