Witnesses from the National Catholic Youth Conference
13,000 Catholic high schoolers (12 from Good Shepherd and St. James) from all over the country praised God and filled the Indianapolis Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium on Nov 16-19 at the National Catholic Youth Conference. It was a new experience of their faith where they saw God in a different way, grew in relationship with our Savior and so much more. Thank you for supporting us. Enjoy some reflections below from 3 of our teens.
It allowed me to connect deeply with my faith. NCYC showed me how there are so many others who share our faith. My favorite moment was the Mass we had on Saturday night. The bishop who spoke to us was amazing, and he helped me realized how important consistency is with faith. It was a great experience, and I’m very glad I went.

One of the best things was seeing all the youth interested in their faith. Witnessing 13,000 Catholic teens in the same place at the same time is something I’ve never experienced before and it showed me that it’s ok to be excited about your faith in your daily life and it doesn’t need to wait for another opportunity like this one.

My favorite part was adoration because it was the first time in the whole trip where there was truly silence and you could talk to God and have time to really reflect on yourself. The most profound thing I heard was the idea that Jesus doesn’t turn bad people into good people, He turns dead people into alive people. It was one of the things one of the bishops said and I find interesting that stuck with me. Some of the changes the Lord’s definitely asking of me is to be more aware of Him and have time to sit down and pray with Him. I’m going to be more aware of God by making sure I remind myself that I’m Christian and that I can talk to God as often as I can.
