It’s All About Relationship

Our twinning parish in El Salvador has a 30+ year history. It is a commitment we have grown over the years. Some of those who were children when the first groups went to Ellacuria in 1990 now have kids and young adults of their own—kids and young adults who our recent delegation got to meet.
By being friends with this community, we have been enriched by their fortitude and courage during difficult situations we can hardly imagine. We have supported them and receive their support as brothers and sisters in Christ. It is incredibly rich.
There is ongoing communication with Ellacuria via letters and social media. The Ellacuria Committee works hard to keep that alive and foster that friendship. Those who haven’t been to Ellacuria don’t have that same visceral connection, but we can learn a lot about them! Come to the parish offices in the hallway next to the kitchen of Daniels Hall, and take a good look at the wall that shows our connections over the years. Consider going to a committee meeting to hear more!
